Sep 10, 2015 you've literally, explicitly said that, though. i don't know if you're appreciating just how great big's albums are. it's not just "oh they did will and died before they f----- up"; no one has ever, at any point made such great rap records consecutively. not Illmatic-It Was Written, not All Eyez On Me-Makaveli, not Low End Theory-Midnight Marauders, not Amerikkka's Most-Death Certificate. they're absolute masterpieces the likes of which we've seen a handful of times in the genre's history. nas is as respected as big and pac. he's a consensus top ten rapper.
Sep 10, 2015 To make things clear, I only jumped in when people started undermining Big. I had no problem with people comparing K.dot to him-- in fact Big would absolutely be the best comparison if Kendrick died right now.
Sep 10, 2015 i was four years old when it came out, i have memories tied to albums that came out 2003 and on. try again.
Sep 10, 2015 I'll be listening to all of Big's classics such as Notorious Thugs and Gimme the Loot 10 years from now. And they are 20 or so years old already lmao.
Sep 10, 2015 If you wanna be hit in your gutfeelings try reading these lyrics without any background noise. http://genius.com/33358/The-notorio...-a-piece-of-s----it-aint-hard-to-f---ing-tell
Sep 10, 2015 no one would really dispute this too harshly, because nas has like three to five classics and has been rapping at a remarkably high level for almost twenty-five years. putting him in a conversation with big isn't ridiculous. doing it with kendrick is.
Sep 10, 2015 @punos Since you think Ready to Die is Big's best album and Kendrick's best is GKMC, how can you in good conscience compare TPAB to Life After Death?
Sep 10, 2015 Because I don't think Life After Death is as good as most people. I still think Illmatic is the best rap album of all time. If it makes things any clearer my top 3 are Kendrick, Nas, Kanye in no order. Followed closely by Mos Def and Big. Nah I still think it's a logical argument to say that two rappers who have released the same amount of albums at the same level are as good as each other.
