Sep 12, 2015 Its fans. I was scrolling through FB comments for his recent Colbert performance (terrible idea, I'm aware of this) and the majority of supporters basically said this: "If you don't think this album is amazing, you're an idiot that doesn't know music. You probably love Migos and that dumbass Young Thug and actually think DS2 is a good album. You have to be intelligent to understand this art." TPAB is the country club of rap albums and (it seems like) a lot of its fans are its snobby members. People that automatically love any rap that isn't talking about b------s over a trap beat now think they're above others because they like this particular sound. TPAB created a bunch of cocky, "I'm smarter and better than everybody" douchebags.
Sep 12, 2015 i think the more vocal kendrick fans are the GKMC bandwagon fans who are pretty much wankers, they should be ignored @Squid i get you i really like TPAB, but i can understand why people wouldent like it, becuase sonically its not very appealing... i just dont think that the twats that comment on kendricks videos should change your opinion on his actual music
Sep 12, 2015 Yea, you're definitely a cool, reasonable fan. A lot of people on here are cool. And I didn't mean to knock EVERY fan of it, I probably should have guessed that those that still voice their opinions in FB comments probably aren't the most rational. It just irk'd me when It seemed like 75% of the comments said variations of my quote above. It really doesn't change my views on the album itself, I like it, but it does kind of put a damper on the whole feel of it when I see stuff like that.
Sep 18, 2015 The album is brilliant. You just have to sit with it for a long time to truly enjoy it. It isn't supposed to bump in the whip. He said he made it for his homies in prison to pick apart. Of course you're gonna come across pretentious Kendrick fans but that shouldn't effect your opinion of the album
Sep 18, 2015 Intelligence is not a prerequisite for understanding TPAB. In my experience though, one is rarely both ignorant and intelligent. So these "hate it before you played it" rap fans are "the pot calling the kettle black". Some self reflection is definitely required.
Sep 18, 2015 I haven't listened to it in full for a while, but it's a pretty great album. You shouldn't hate an album because of it's fans.
