    today marks 19 years since tupac shakur died following a still-unsolved shooting in las vegas. despite being only 25, pac left behind a celebrated catalog, hundreds of unreleased songs, and promising careers in acting and activism. what are your five favorite songs?

    skippy, you gotta listen. music is incredibly easy to access, and you can throw it on any time. no excuse for ignorance in 2015. if you're going to talk about hip-hop, you should be well-versed in people of pac's stature. and as for this...

    ...it's actually a "suburban white kid" thing to act as if the influence those two wielded wasn't and isn't universal and deeply felt. everywhere i've been in the country, those two are spoken about often and in reverent tones (except maybe louisiana, because only louisiana rap exists in louisiana).

    you also shouldn't say that you're "living proof that suburban white kids aren't sheltered" because even if it were true (which it's not, yet, no offense), it would be a horribly, embarrassingly tone-deaf thing to say.
