Sep 18, 2015 Anytime someone says this, I'll just post this. He has different tastes in hip-hop than maybe you and I. I thought the clipping. album that came out last year was only okay while he gave it a 9, but I can agree with him and say The Money Store is a 10. We all have different tastes and have different ways of explaining that taste, which I think Fantano does well. Basically, if you're really expecting him to f--- with Future and Young Thug and find them as interesting as you or WPG, you're going to be severely disappointed.
Sep 18, 2015 you dont have to treat me like im new to fantano. maybe you missed the post where i said i started watching him like 4-5 years ago lol ive specifically said its his REASONING that makes him a joke most of the time re: hip hop. his breakdown of albums like MBDTF contrasted to something like Rodeo. He should honestly just stay away from the genre. Making dense, self-indulgent videos doesn't mean he's defending his opinions well. Saying Thug is one note on Slime Season is actually a LIE. That's not an OPINION. lmao. s--- like that.
Sep 18, 2015 narsh, you said he skims through these projectS, so you were obviously referring to more than just one of his reviews when he did the barter 6 review, the video was like 18 minutes long. i know because i watched the entire thing. so obviously a video that lasts that long is a pretty throughout review. and from the videos I've watched, it seems like more often than not his videos are pretty long. i mean i'm not defending the guy, but it should be pretty easy to tell why he has soooo many subscribers. he articulates himself well, his points are clear and easy to follow, he does a great job of putting his reviews together with the background art. its pretty much everything you look for in review for an album.
Sep 18, 2015 comparing a review he made 5 years ago to one now is unfair, he's definitely gotten better since then and he's changed his mind somewhat on MBDTF and realized it was a gamechanger and i cant fully say anything about slime season yet (i've been trying to get through it but i just dont f--- with the absolutely mediocre trap production so far), but i dont disagree with barter 6 being one-note and the slime season review is short because he said its a lot like barter 6, just slightly better in some ways and worse in other ways
Sep 18, 2015 first off how is the album with numbers and OD one note? what are you guys even listening to. and his Rodeo review isnt 5 years old, its like 5 days old. And its basically just as bad. Because I actually watch his reviews. You're just trying to make it seem like people are being too hard on him b/c he puts in effort or whatever. Good for him. But I already said how dense/long ur review has NO baring on how well you interpreted a specific project. I can list multiple albums he's been utterly off base about, btu since you seem to know a lot about the dudes reviews Ill assume you already know them? Or are you just atlking about of your a--- lol

Sep 18, 2015 i know you were lmao but i brought up mbdtf vs. rodeo in the post u quoted. so i was saying while 5 years can be used to defend his s-----y MBDTF review (i guess) it cant be used to defend his new rodeo review. he hasn't learned much re: rap. also, ITS NOT ABOUT DIFFERENT TASTES. sigh. ALL IVE DONE is point out things that are FACTUALLY inaccurate when it comes to these reviews. I haven't once said "Fantano sucks cuz he doesnt like music about strippers and drugs!!" Ive said "Fantano thinks because something is about drugs it can only be one-note" like, for his example, his DS2 review has a HORRENDOUS reading of the central track "slave master." He ENTIRELY missed the irony of an ode to asap yams called "slave master" being about never giving up lean. And he ran with. for a handful of minutes i think. HES BAD AT THIS.
