Sep 26, 2015 Guarantee 90% of the people viewing this thread haven't even listened to Joe's body of solo work
Sep 26, 2015 Ha obviously. Dude does a podcast every week and voices his opinions on s--- like this all the time, but when he says anything negative about someone like Meek or Drake ppl lose it lol. Drake fan boys loved him like a month ago when that Meek/Drake beef was going on. Budden is a fan of Drake, doesn't mean he blindly follows/likes everything he does though.
Sep 26, 2015 Please tell me more about what I was trying to say If I was going to debate which track was better, I wouldn't stick with such a one dimensional topic like "thoughtfulness." Also, if I wanted to provide a song much better than Slaughtermouse, I would have posted 5am In Toronto, 6pm In New York, Etc. Not 30 for 30.
Sep 26, 2015 Dead at how simple you are. I'm assuming you're young, you obviously ride drake. Use your brain, listen to the words. It is rap after all..
Sep 26, 2015 Exactly.. Glad someone has a brain. I swear 95% of younger people today do just follow music blindly.
Sep 26, 2015 ^^ Mouse is no joke. I think most people assume his solo work is similar to slaughterhouse stuff
Sep 26, 2015 Budden said this to stir controversy 4 pages long, could get bigger. Possibly the biggest Budden thread on here. Budden won. All Love Lost coming soon
Sep 26, 2015 I think Joe Budden certainly get's more personal, that's without question. And even beyond that, your critique of 30 for 30 is correct. But to say an artist hasn't put "thought" in to a song is heavy. @Jet mentioned a month ago that Hotline Bling makes him feel like he's tripping acid in Panama. Fader & Drake echoed that statement in a interview published 2 days ago, saying the song is a conscious effort to "paint songs with yellows and oranges" rather than his usual pallets. It's tropical rather than melancholic, and that was done consciously. So yes, he may not have the depth that Joe Budden has, but to say he hasn't put thought in to his music carries a lot more implications than just that.
Sep 26, 2015 The irony in this statement is that I grew out of the phase you're in when I was younger than I am now (I'm 18). Sorry, I don't lose my mind at the sound of multi's or endlessly praise a song because it's thoughtful.
Sep 26, 2015 Lol the "phase" of liking lyrics in rap? Cause I like music to stimulate my brain and I appreciate the effort they put into the writing aspect? Because my opinion is different than yours? Yeah grow up
Sep 26, 2015 that album was for sure a cash grab, i don't know if it's fully trash but it's not my type of music i always gravitate to. at least he's not scared to say it.
Sep 26, 2015 I think most Joe fans would consider his prime from 03-09, he was untouchable in that time period imo. Still has great songs in the 6 years since but not quite as consistent as he once was and NLL was pretty bad(with a few exceptions).
