What are the pros and cons of having a roommate?

And what annoys you with having one?

the only roommates i've had were horribly disgusting slobs

the one was okay outside of that, in fact we were best friends for a time, but her filth was unacceptable

the other was a pseudointellectual/jackass of a redneck that would not leave me the f--- alone on my days off and constantly had his trailer trash friends over, who always helped trash the place while they got s--- faced and took the TV hostage with video games 99% of the time and made a s--- ton of noise

I like mine for the most part. Wish they were a little less messy but that's really my only complaint. We get into fights (usually not physical unless drunk) every now and then but hey that's life

I had roommates not a long ago. It was alright, but some of them didn't clean after themselves. Also sometimes they were loud and I couldn't focus on studying, because of that.

See I'm lucky in the sense that we don't actually share a room. 4 bed/4 bath. We could really never have to see each other if we didn't want to, but me and 2 of the others have become pretty good friends

This time round I got to choose who can live here and who can't. Turned away like 10 people because they didn't give me the right vibe and i chose a Dutch dude and some chick, both have been awesome to live with.

Only thing that pisses me off is the Dutch guy picks his plate up everytime he's finished and licks the s--- out of it, I'm like wtf?

And other male housemate wipes his mouth and blows his nose with the f---ing kitchen towel that's supposed to be used for cleaning surfaces, haven't used a kitchen towel since I saw him do that. It's mainly only little things that piss me off but nothing major. If you find the right people it can be alright, but of course it'd be awesome to have my own space. One day
