Oct 3, 2015 Following in the footsteps of “Minority Report” and “Limitless,” “Lethal Weapon” is heading to television. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox has given a put-pilot commitment to a reboot of classic buddy-cop action franchise, written by Matt Miller (“Chuck”), who will executive produce alongside Dan Lin. The project hails from Warner Bros. Television, whose corporate sibling Warner Bros. Pictures produced the “Lethal Weapon” films. Debuting in 1987, the hit franchise starred Mel Gibson as volatile LAPD narcotics cop Martin Riggs, who, struggling after the death of his wife, is transferred to the homicide division, where he’s partnered with the aging Sgt. Roger Murtaugh, played by Danny Glover. Produced for $15 million, “Lethal Weapon” grossed more than $120 million worldwide, and spawned three sequels. The TV reboot will reportedly utilize a similar setup as the original film. http://spinoff.comicbookresources.com/2015/10/02/lethal-weapon-is-heading-to-television/
