Oct 8, 2015 Also the intent of the thread wasnt to compare to other concious rappers....because we can talk all day about how each one is a conscious rapper... the final consensus will be that they're conscious rappers...which is where I kind of see it going.
Oct 8, 2015 And on a semi-related note, @Narsh, I think I figured out what he meant when he said "but idk, im no mortal man, maybe I'm just another n-----". Tell me what the first words you hear in the 1st track of the album are
Oct 8, 2015 havent heard the album in months jus tell me pls lol im super curious to see how that nonsensical "im no mortal man" line makes sense
Oct 8, 2015 Maybe im just another n----- The 1st thing you hear when you play the album "Every n---- is a star" When he said thats all I wrote, he's talking to 2Pac, which is obviously not real. You hear him crumbling paper then talking to him. The album before the mortal man skit is essentially an essay for Pac. When he disappears, the album stops. TPAB - a blank letter by Kendrick Lamar Idc what anyone says, TPAB surpasses GKMC
Oct 8, 2015 but to be a mortal man is the same as being another n----- thats what i dont get a mortal man = a normal man immortal = divine, special, etc. so why wouldnt he say "im no immortal man, maybe im just another n-----" thats what i dont get lol.
Oct 8, 2015 "Thats all I wrote" Every n---- is a star I guess in this case mortal man < n----- = star
Oct 8, 2015 meh but yeah i do get the sentiment of every "n-----" being a star (rather than just another lost soul as it were) i love wesleys theory man, top 3 or 5 for me for sure.
Oct 8, 2015 And @shahidah I wouldn't worry about what to call Kendrick Lamar at this point. He transcends the rapper label. We are witnessing a special cat and people won't realize just how special KDot is until he's gone
Oct 16, 2015 It isn't People call Yeezus musically groundbreaking when all he did was take from a bunch of industrial hip hop and glitch hop artists
