Oct 21, 2015 I wouldn't say that. Take Care is better than any J Cole album and I love J Cole.. I think FHD is his best work but it's in the same situation as Take Care..... It's a classic to me but people don't wanna call it a classic because it's "modern". Both Take Care and FHD >>>>> Recovery and Watch the Throne.... And those two albums walk the thin line between classic or just great.
Oct 21, 2015 Take Care is comparable with MBDTF and GKMC... Easily. No album at such a 17 track length is quite threaded seamlessly like Take Care is.
Oct 21, 2015 no disrespect to drake i really like his music, but imo he has no "classic" like fiddy has with GRODT, Wayne with C2&3 or Em with MMLP/SSLP/TES.
Oct 21, 2015 I think TC is a borderline and only a few more years of time will truly give the proper answer on that. NWTS has been aging like fine wine but The jury is still out on that tape as well because of time. I think the highs on NWTS > TC yet TC is more consistent and polished. The best way to properly answer the answer is as so... Drake has tons of classics in terms of songs ranging all the way from the start of his career to where he is presently and that is indisputable. I think he will have 2-4 classics by the end of his career. The jury is still out his entire discography to properly label one of his tapes as a definitive classic. But no one can deny he has a enormous amount of classic songs.
Oct 22, 2015 recovery isnt a borderline classic. take care is, sure. and WTT is, and is better than every j cole project to date.
Oct 22, 2015 I would probably say SFTB and Hold On topped Headlines and Take Care as successful singles. I would also add that songs like Connect and Own it where it's R&Drizzy he tops the dull mood of songs like "Doing it wrong" and "the real her", without a doubt. I do think because of the way it threads together musically Take Care is the stronger album. But NWTS had less filler work due to 40 challenging Drake to make a "shorter" album (13 songs standard)
