@Koolo I don't think this is better, but IMO it's up there with Kanye's best and comparable with those Dre beats.

Dre can mix better than Kanye. Dre can mix better than most producers actually.
who makes better beats is hard to argue though. Like do you take into account the song it was turned into? or JUST the beat, nothing else?
Then after that, how do you define what is a "better" beat objectively? The one that's mixed better? the one that's more innovative? the one that's more unique? etc etcRastafarian42, Lil Wayne, Michael Myers and 1 other person like this. -

Lol, Kanye has made some of the best beats around. I'm not even a huge fan of him and I know this. Dre and Kanye are in completely different realms of skill, though,. Dre obviously has more knowledge about audio hardware and composition, where Kanye did production for a bit before becoming more of a rapper. Kanye knows more about using tribal or new age musical cadences in his songs, where Dre is more traditional with his productions. I think it's obvious why people prefer Dre, but you gotta acknowledge the fact that Kanye did something different for a lot of his s---.
Eh, both are pretty decent producers, but I do prefer Dre.Last edited: Nov 6, 2015gorealsteady, Ordinary Joel, VMO2 and 1 other person like this. -

If the question is if any Kanye instrumental is as iconic as those two Dre beats then I might agree. If you claim to be a hip-hop head and not know that crazy loop from Still D.R.E then idk what to say. Personally I prefer early Kanye's soulful sound over anything else

its perfectly reasonable to like it more than what i've posted. i'm just saying its really not that unique especially since it was on an album full of similar west coast beats. it just had the strings in shorter bursts.Lucy, gorealsteady and CODEiNE DEMON like this.
