    Kanye West offered a small update on his long-awaited new album SWISH today when he phoned into Big Boy’s morning show, confirming one unfortunate aspect of the album we already feared. Reiterating that it’s family first for him right now, Kanye said that things are going well, but he’s taking it very slow at the current time. “It’s like a sonic painting getting better every week,” he said of his highly anticipated seventh studio album.

    When asked where he was at music-wise right now, he said, “I don’t wanna hype it up… work is slow.” He explained that tracks originally meant for the album were given to other artists, including Rihanna with “FourFiveSeconds,” and The Weekndwith “Tell Your Friends.” It’s worth noting that a similar situation probably happened with Travis $cott, but Kanye didn’t mention his name in regards to that.

    “I keep working to find the language I’m trying to say on my album, [I’m] in the lab every night.” Later in the interview, Kanye was asked about his recent performances of 808s & Heartbreak in Los Angeles, saying that the performances were an opportunity for him to express himself more. He mentioned how the album was famously panned upon release by some members of the public and a number of critics, and that it’s now essentially become “the sound of [the] radio.”

    His ego in front of the media doesn't quite correlate with his music. He has 6 brilliant albums, can't go wrong with any although I would start with The College Dropout, his first album was his first classic.
