This is the first time i've ever tried to sample another song in my production. Its a work in progress right now, but i'm just trying to see how this sounds from an outsiders prospective.. All feedback is appreciated. @CreativeSXN

i like what you're doing with it, but I feel like the really rapid hitting drum parts don't fit, it needs a more mellow, downtempo beat to match it

Thank you so much for the feedback, I've been kinda second guessing the drum patterns to be completely honest. I just wanted to publish atleast a snippet so badly to see what people thought of it, so i'll definitely keep that in mind.

honestly the drum patterns aren't even that bad, just the rapid hits here and there don't fit. overall i like the drums and what you've done with it so just fix that and you'll be golden. can't comment on the mix or anything else though since I just listened real quick at low volume on my s-----y speakers haha

Pretty much what @Cyreides said. The sequencing isn't bad at all for your first time. I don't know if you did any mixing on this but definitely EQ your drums, then it will fit more snug in your mix.

Good choice for the sample. I would say get a better drum kit and different sounds. They sound generic in a sense. But good melody and good job with it being your first! Keep producing brotha

Good first attempt. I agree with everyones opinion in that a slower drum kit would've made a world of difference.

    Loved the sample though.

Thank you guys so f---ing much for the feedback, it means alot to me that people take the time to even listen to my s---. I will be taking all things into consideration, especially using a different drum kit. And about the mixing, it's definitely unmixed right now.

Nice clean cuts on the sample, sounds cool. The drums do sound a bit generic but that's easily fixed. Someone mentioned above about the rapid snare sounding a bit off and I agree with that. When I do snare rolls I like to put a couple of the hits a semitone up on the piano roll, it adds movement and creates an almost flutter effect as opposed to a robotic knock. Just a thought though.

This is much better than my first attempt. Over the rainbow I think it was... It was terrible! Keep at it man
