Nov 26, 2015 If you were comparing artists in their prime, I think Eminem would be close to the top of that list, but he's been too bad for too long to be a top 10 of all time imo. Obviously 50% of this board will disagree with that, but that's how I feel about him.
Nov 26, 2015 That's what I was saying. No clue why you got so mad. I assumed this post was meant to spark discussion. I'm pretty sure I have a more informed opinion than a large majority of members here, which honestly isn't saying much. Obviously you would have the most knowledge on the subject given that it's your career and our hobby. There's no need to be an a------ about it. Especially when it comes to arbitrary lists.
Nov 26, 2015 nowadays, for me, its more like (no order): biggie jay z kanye thug slug gucci future wayne odb doom hm: nas, raekwon, andre
Nov 26, 2015 i only recently started going through scarface's discog and its incredible. cam is still someone i need to check out.
Nov 26, 2015 yeah but see, i wish you had some sort of identity to your posts beyond "i like the coen brothers and hold myself in opposition to wpg." the tone of your posts--as usual--isn't "why is the list this way," it's "you god d--- liar." people get on me for being an a------ on here, but would it be too much to ask for you to engage in one argument in good faith? but in all seriousness, you might have to relinquish your claim to being "better informed" for saying boosie and wayne are "redundant." (not to mention how nonsensical that is--even if they were similar artists, why would that disqualify them?)
Nov 26, 2015 honestly with someone like gucci, id rather recommend going through a piece like this: http://www.thefader.com/2015/10/01/gucci-mane-oral-history-hard-to-k--- than a single project
Nov 26, 2015 ...maybe? if you hold Yeezus as a classic, which is reasonable, that's three. andre had four, pac had three, big had two (out of two possible), cam either had three or one verrrrrry close to a classic followed by two classics. (and it's a full three if you count the first Diplomatic Immunity.) every mixtape and retail album, official or unofficial, wayne dropped from the end of 2005 through early 2008 is a classic.
Nov 26, 2015 The reason slug is still on my list, aside from not being as knowledgable on the topic as someone like wpg, is that he's quite literally one of the best storytellers I've ever heard (or read)
