Dec 5, 2015I understand that, I just think flat out saying "I'm not a racist" has this kind of arrogant, self-congratulatory air about it. It's kind of like saying "I'm not an a------, I'm nice to people" when you don't really get to decide that. It's contingent the people around you and on society in general. Maybe you don't think you're an a------, but everyone around you thinks you are (and I don't mean you specifically, this is in general).
It reminds of people on facebook who make self-serving posts for likes about how bad other people are who think all muslims are ISIS. Wow, you don't think all brown people are terrorists? Congratu-f---ing-lations on doing the bare minimum to not be a complete piece of s---.
