    Wow this thread is terrible. So many people making misinformed remarks and speaking on a topic they aren't well versed in. Embarrassing reading some of these replies. I'm gonna go

    I understand that, I just think flat out saying "I'm not a racist" has this kind of arrogant, self-congratulatory air about it. It's kind of like saying "I'm not an a------, I'm nice to people" when you don't really get to decide that. It's contingent the people around you and on society in general. Maybe you don't think you're an a------, but everyone around you thinks you are (and I don't mean you specifically, this is in general).

    It reminds of people on facebook who make self-serving posts for likes about how bad other people are who think all muslims are ISIS. Wow, you don't think all brown people are terrorists? Congratu-f---ing-lations on doing the bare minimum to not be a complete piece of s---.

    i feel like there is deeper meaning beyond this thread here
    i didnt mean it like oh look at me im really great because i dont believe in hating others
    its just cause im not a violent person at all
    and none of my posts in any other sections adress any other members race
    i get what you are saying is true

    but in 2015 you cant be against racism because you get the backlash i just got in this thread
    you cant say your a racist because that gets obvious backlash
    why the f--- is everyone so sensitive

    We're arguing semantics. Racism will never 'fade away' as in it won't naturally go away. Racism will never be eradicated regardless of the lengths we go to get rid of it.

    It's just the way it is. Of course do your bit to teach the next generation that racism isn't okay but there will always be people out there who will do and or say racist things.
