Dec 8, 2015 Definitely I'm a musician and I'm still mindblown at Tpab's composition and its sonical experience. If you are a Jazz, Afro Beat and Classical head (I listen to all three) then you appreciate the complexity, the rich musical progressions......Kendrick grabbed the newest jazz players that tearing up the jazz scene and made black music at its finest.

Dec 8, 2015 TPAB made me revisit my classics (jazz, funk and soul) and gotta admit, it stands strong against most goat albums of any genre. Gotta give my props to kendrick... albums like TPAB happen once every 5 years.

Dec 8, 2015 I had this conversation with him and we both agreed on the fact that TPAB felt more like a Kendrick album than anything on GKMC. You can tell just by listening to s80 or OD that TPAB was supposed to be the next step. Gkmc was probably his introduction to the masses. He also said the only reason rapradar had GKMC at #1 for 2012 was because of Pitchfork but this year they gonna give TPAB the #1 spot (and future will be 2, sorry for the spoil) because they really enjoyed it, musically. Brian is a Kendrick fan though, he just doesn't f--- with GKMC but he was one of the first persons to give TDE media attention
Dec 8, 2015 I can respect that. I loved gkmc too but TPAB is just a more complete album. The rapping is still great on it but the music is so good that I completely forgot it was a rap album. I also hate when kendrick drops some freestyles or rap songs with basic composition. Dude has evolved a lot, he understands music and all that s---, he should focus on making more music like TPAB

It makes me think of that interview from last year when he said kendrick knew funk history more than him.
