Nov 21, 2016It's so funny because Harry Potter is savage. I don't understand why they marketed it towards kids, when they knew the story was going to be dark.
It really hindered the potential of the final 4 movies too. In the books, they have concentration camps and s---, and in the movies, they never really go into it, but imply it. It's bs, because it's a HUGE element to the story.

First two movies are trash, because they're catering more towards a child audience. It doesn't really reflect the books, but I understand the cash-grab mentality. If they actually reflected the tone of the books, they would've been great movies. If they would've used the director of Prisoner of Azkaban, the movie franchise would've gotten off to a great start.
Prisoner of Azkaban is GOAT HP movie, f---ing perfect, One of my favorite movie experiences, to be honest.
Goblet Of Fire is good, focuses on stupid s---, but overall it's solid.
Order of the Phoenix is trash, with some cool parts, but not nearly as cool as the book.
Half Blood Prince is straight trash, worst f---ing movie of the entire franchise. The whole book is focused on Voldemort's past, and they had two scenes of it.
Deathly Hallows 1 is 2nd best. It might be the best reflection of any of the books. Only gripe I had was they never explained why you can't say Voldemort's name, but whatever.
Deathly Hallows part 2 is OK. Could've been great but it seemed really rushed.
Half Blood Prince and Order of the Phoenix, aside from Deathly Hallows, were my favorite books. There's so much cool s--- in them, and they dropped the ball.Bman, DKC, dkdnfbdjdkdddjdjfvcgfl and 1 other person like this. -

Goblet of Fire had some of the most amazing writing in terms of Barty Crouch Jr. and his father. I don't know why they didn't utilize that instead of the stupid dance that they had.
Barty Crouch Jr ends up escaping Azkaban by using his dying mother. They both used Polyjuice potion for him to escape, and her mother died in Azkaban. His father put him under the Imperius Curse, since he knew he was a murderer, but loved him. Then Voldemort saved the son, and the son put his father under the Imperius curse until he went crazy... He ended up escaping, and found Harry, and started going insane in front of him. It was so good.
OOTP and HBP were seriously amazing books, but I f---ing hated the movies. -

In the movies, they don't know what the Horcruxes are, but in the books, you know exactly what they are and what they mean to Voldemort. The books represent Voldemort as a serial killer, basically. And over the years, every murder he creates, rips his soul apart, and that's why he becomes increasingly disfigured. They show how manipulative he is/was, and how he is a complete sociopath, that has no feelings.
When he's a child, he tortures kids, kills kids' pets by hanging them from the rafters of the orphanage.... It's wild.
Half Blood Prince is such an amazing book.
The whole lake scene is crazy too. All those bodies in the lake (which in the movie look like f---ing Gollums) were people who Voldemort had killed over the years, and he uses them to protect his Horcrux.(This ad goes away when signing up) -
