Dec 21, 2015 h--- no, he can keep that I want more music about moving weight, it's inspirational Also welcome to the site @Bossun7 !
Dec 21, 2015 heaps of people on this site lately: "I dont want Pusha to talk about Cocaine" and now this tred. the worst. Why even? you guys should just listen to Hopsin, to my knowledge his raps are very self conscious and he's never rapped about coke. Sounds like he's the perfect rapper for you guys.
Dec 22, 2015 ayyo mister you are interpreting the OP incorrectly u dumb fool. I just asked does anyone wants him to talk more conscious stuff or not. Of course its pusha T n half songs there on King Push are what we know already how they would be. But if you're a pusha lover and u didnt like sunshine then idk man. Also stop the ignorant "Go listen to Hopsin posting" its 2015 for christ's sake.
Dec 22, 2015 I can do a few songs like Sunshine but I need that moving coke for the rest of my life and getting away with it music from Push, no one does it better
Dec 22, 2015 As far as the OP, in the hot97 interview Pusha didnt really say much about content of King Push but that he's gonna let the producers take the led more than on the prelude. like, he found the beats he wanted for the prelude, but for king push he wants to (no pun) push himself more and be more versatile
Dec 22, 2015 that interview also had Push saying Rae Sremmurd is his favorite group right now and defending them against Ebro. just another reason why hes the goat
Dec 22, 2015 What is wrong with conscious rap? There is nothing wrong with people enjoying and reflecting on the meaning of a song. @theg you need to find a better word than gay. I'm finding it hard to find the resemblance in a h---------- and the point you are trying to make. Just because conscious rap doesn't appeal to you, it doesn't mean it shouldn't to others. Some of the most influential hip-hop artists are conscious rappers, which means people do care/follow the message they deliver.
Dec 22, 2015 when the subject matter is way out of the rapper's subject matter range or songwriting skills it just feels incredibly forced or naive (did the man who invented college go to college, I know the government administer aids, that type of thing) there's a reason why some rappers just decide to stick to their lane subject matter wise
Dec 22, 2015 True, but wasnt really the point I was making. I'm trying to say that there are people out there that enjoy listening to conscious rap. I wasn't really addressing whether Pusha T should take this path or not. You are right though.
Dec 22, 2015 I'm mainly saying why I don't like a lot of conscious rap in a lot of cases, but yeah I could see it applying to push I guess like nightmares is probably the best song he's ever been a part of
Dec 22, 2015 but there is something wrong with people trying to shoehorn "meanings" into their music when they could be making 10x better songs by dropping the pretense and just rapping. it's not that serious all the time. nah you know what i mean when i say gay (and i've even gone as far as to explain it to someone else who some how managed to take it literally), i'm not going to change my way of talking/writing because someone doesn't like it. it's absurd to read a comment saying conscious rap is gay and take from that that i'm calling everyone who has ever made a conscious rap song a literal h----------. i never once said it shouldn't appeal to others. he didnt ask if pusha making conscious rap would appeal to others. i didn't say "no no one likes conscious rap", i just said it's really gay, because it is.
Dec 22, 2015 I agree that not all artists are fit for conscious hip-hop, which is why I probably prefer Pusha T to keep doing what he already does. And what I got from you saying gay is that it's not relevant/outdated or doesn't sound good? Which is why I said people still enjoy it because there are popular rappers like Kendrick Lamar who are conscious rappers.
Dec 22, 2015 So you say I'm interpreting the OP wrong, but you completely misinterpret my post lol. My post is pretty much saying why is there even room for people to say these things, or make threads like this? Nobody ever says "oh future should stop rapping about codeine" or "Drake should stop rapping about girls". I have no idea what you're trying to say in the second half of this post, but if you seriously think King Push is underwhelming or that Push raps too much about Coke, then go listen to Hopsin because he's almost a polar opposite. It's 2015 and you call me a dumb fool for trying to help you? f---ing h--- you're a c----.
