10. Freaky - Young Thug
I don't know if it's just an urban legend at this point but when I first got this long leaked to me (yeah im that cool), months before any of you would give it the attention it deserves, I was told Kanye West was supposed to be on it. And the fact that Thug drops the "5000 on Yeezys, they think I ain't Jesus," bar made it even more believable to me. Kanye had given Thug a pair of Yeezys. But now it's come and gone as part of Slime Season 1, and I've gave up on this being the first time we here these two legends together (aside from Kanye mixing "I Swear to God" which itself is an awesome collaboration, despite Mr. West not having a verse or any sort of vocal contribution...he just wanted to work with Thug's vocals ). However, they did have a session together, and they did make a handful of records in that 1 session that Kanye is holding on to....hopefully for his next project? Who knows?

But back to this joint...Thug's hooks are better than most peoples' verses. Often times, they're larger than life. From scope, to execution -- the variety of flows, the adlibs, the delivery...they all add up to creating an infallible backbone for the track. "I hope out the rarri, I'm leavin' it started..." The verses are endlessly quotable: "I apologize if I got more money than you and your clan (I apologizeeeeee)" to "what is your bargain???" Many of the most quoted Thug lines in my group of friends are from this very track.

Bro he said "your clan" lmao. Bro he said "I'm lovin your patience, low turtle in this race (turtle you turtle!)" lmfao. Like, his adlib was "turtle you turtle." I'm f---ing dead. He said "I aint talkin bout no coffee, but she got double Ds," lmao. Where that Dunkin Donuts sponsorship at? He said "hey I'm on the third base, and you're away (that means I'm home!). bars.

"d--- this might be coward's day...yeah this might be powder day!"

"Even if you had Erykah Ba' you couldnt do us (f--- you!)"

"And everybody hate Chris but I got them racks up, now they Luda, yeah/tell baby girl, I only want that throat...flute us."

WondaGurl's production is honestly fantastic, and I definitely hope her and Thug collab more often. The strings in the back are heavenly. s---'s way better than her work with Jay Z lol.

It makes sense if this was part of his session with Kanye, because he brought his A game man. These are two of his best verses of the year, for sure.

Thug is the best rap artist alive, and these other n----s vibe faker than a puppet.

also, i just got kinda annoyed at the "list w/o thug pls" comment (cause i spend time on these write ups and its annoying when people fixate on s--- like that) so im not in my usual "help a brotha out" mood
