I have reason to believe that 2016 will be a better year than most for Eminem career!

Before you post this or please hear me out.

Reasons:

1: Best Friend
Eminem started 2015 off with an 'okay' verse with the best friend feature. Even though i don't hold it in a high regard it still has some bright spots.

And who you think's my Glock that I use?
That I pull from to get my strength up against these haters
And he'll be waiting at the gate when you get sprayed up
Sending you hoes straight up to deal with my (best friend)

not bad but not great. not quite a reason to be optimistic but, we are just getting started.

2: Speedom:

Before you say " But nick, thats the shady we know and hate" " hes just rapping really fast"
I agree. Just like Best friend, it has its bright spots:
All this anger pent up inside
I went up inside a Bennigans diner with a cigarette lighter

Again, the flow there was pretty good ( and upon re listening that part was a bright spot in 2015 )

3: Southpaw:
Ok, the main course for Eminem in 2015. With all the hype surrounding phenomenal and that trailer dropping we thought we were getting something great. But alas, we didn't.
BUT, That fateful day sometime in July, Kings Never Die Leaked ( MS made that thread )

And I'm under a tack again, that I'll act as if I'm 'posed ta
With this pent up rage, cause all these plaques in my office
On the floor stacked against the door
Are they just metaphors for the odds of me comin' back again?
Cause all the accomplishments, accolades, awards

And I'm not gonna be


I could post lyrics in about this song all day but that right there ladies and gentleman is it the peak of 2015 Eminem.

4: Medicine Man:

News broke about the "Soundtrack" for the compton movie and soon found out that Eminem would be on it. We then thought " Wtf, Eminems White..?"
yeah so what, hes still the goat and belongs on this. That beats 1 show in august confirmed what was rumored, Eminem was on it.. and so was 15 other rappers. With all the features, Again we thought " Eminem is gonna be out shined" " Kendrick is gonna steal the show" ( which he probably did )
BUT, Eminem delivered with his verse

Assault rifle with the sniper scope for this whole time
Day one, say when to blast, give me the orders, I spray (Uh)
Pain in the a--- and get shot in the a--- with a paint gun
Ain't no one safe from, non-believers there ain't none
I even make the b------s I r--- c-m
I'm waiting on someone to say something
Dre make the bass pump and let the tape run for old time's sake
I spit it straight through, this is take one
The moment you're waiting for has come but the...

I quote this because of the censored line, The FIRST censored Eminem line since 2004. What a glorious day!
I could've quoted the beginning but it didn't give me goosebumps

5: The NYT interview:

Do you feel like you’re still topping yourself?

I feel like I’m still trying to. And sometimes I don’t know if that’s always a good thing. I don’t want to make it so that by the time I’m done with a song, you didn’t even understand what just happened. That’s what I try not to do. I’m my own worst nightmare in that sense.

Because you’re so technically proficient that you can take it to a place where faster and more complicated isn’t always better?

Yeah, that’s what I mean. Sometimes that’s cool, if the song calls for it. But if I end up starting to record for another album, I want to make sure I approach it the right way.

The MOST important Reason in 2015! This is what we have been waiting for. He knows that he is incoherent at times.

Number 5 is crucial for the little faith I have left. At least he is self aware. He needs to slow down, use a laid back delivery and quit trying to be so technical. I blame Slaughterhouse and sobriety (boredom/over thinking) for getting extremely lyrical, spastic/choppy flows and trying to fit a million rhymes in every line. He used to flow so naturally.

Medicine Man and Fine Line give me hope though.

I have faith in him.....the stuff between Recovery and MMLP 2 were mediocre....yet MMLP 2 I really enjoyed. He will get his act together for the album.

To be fair, a lot of Eminem fans are like that. But we are on a hip hop forum, I'd be willing to bet the majority of Eminem fans on here listen to other rappers too

Best Friend is improved and right Recovery style that fits his age. Medicine Man is the combination of Recovery and 2000 Eminem, which is even better. If he does songs like that then his album would be amazing.
