Jan 5, 2016 to be fair amazing albums like this always distance themselves from the rest. Most critics said at that time that it was gonna be difficult to take that AOTY crown from tpab
Jan 5, 2016 I think thats what complex did they have TPAB as #1 album of the year and Drake as rapper of the year, with future & kendrick behind
Jan 5, 2016 tell me its not gonna be a W for hip-hop if kendrick wins a grammy for TPAB itd be brilliant
Jan 5, 2016 I never really fell much into the trying to argue whos best hole. I feel like s--- is far to subjective. There's a reason dudes from certain regions of the map are inclined to like different styles of s--- more than the other, even in the same genres of music. Too many influences on what make you personally connect and feel strongly enough to be like 'Aye this dude is #1." Kendrick and Future both at the end of the day are on the top of the throne in their own subdivision of sound within hip hop music right now.
Jan 5, 2016 Kendrick saying he wants to win that award for nas, pac and others whew but I want him to win because tpab deserves it
Jan 5, 2016 Drake maybe had the bigger hit in 2015 but that's about it Future dropped better tapes, was everywhere even was the better artist on their collab
Jan 5, 2016 Silver is cool but Kendrick >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> future in any year
Jan 5, 2016 100%. Men lie, women lie, facts don't. So TPAB: -the consensus AOTY according to the critics, its also #1 on 90% of the end year lists. http://www.metacritic.com/feature/critics-pick-top-10-best-albums-of-2015 -the highest rated hip hop album of all time on Metacritic. -the reason kendrick has the most nominations in one night at the grammy (since Michael Jackson in 84). -has 2 songs being played in protests, one of them is named the new black anthem. -being taught at some universities. -had a scholarship in its name. -influenced some goat artists like David Bowie, Prince and Chuck D, all in the same year. -the highest rated album of the decade in any genre on multiple platforms like RYM that only take people's rankings into account. -had RollingStone Magazine calling Sway in the morning to say TPAB better be #1 on every end year list because it's the most ambitious album of the year, musically. -is probably one of the most respected rap album by modern jazz musicians. -contains Barack Obama's favorite song of the year. #Legendary Kendrick Wamar the president of the new school...So many W's he can start donating em to less fortunate rappers "Tell me who the b---- n----- hating on me Jumping on my d-ck but this d-ck ain't free To p---- A Butterfly another classic CD"
Jan 5, 2016 It's a lot of grey area in music. I think it's entirely plausible to say that Kendrick had the best album, Future had the best year as a whole, Drake had the biggest hit, etc. However you wanna go about saying those things that is.
Jan 5, 2016 No clue... I'm guessing because he had bigger hits because IYRTITL was disappointing apart from a couple of songs While Future dropped Beast Mode and 56 Nights (best mixtape in 2015 imo). Also outshined him on WATTBA.
Jan 5, 2016 Just like the Hiphopdx awards, they had the most accurate ranking tbh everything considered: Kendrick Drake Vince Staples
