    You could argue he never did. The co producers did a lot of the work. But he's the master of mixing mastering and making the final product sound smooth.

    People actually think this? Wow I had no idea people were this clueless when it comes to big productions.

    Dre used to be at the same place as Kanye, where he works with a lot of different musicians and producers but ultimately does most of the creative process, and makes all the important decisions. The difference is that his label hasn't been very good at giving the right people credit. Recently he's just been cosigning stuff with his name to make it sell (see beats by dre for more)
