Without 808 there would be no SFG & TML, but without Rappa Ternt Sanga there would be no 808.

this is a separate discussion from drake now, but: i'd say kanye's influence on rappers has dwindled in the last five years. if i'm listing the top ten rappers in the world right now, i don't see much of kanye in there at all.

and i would argue that kendrick has gone on to carve out a vision of his own, and drake hasn't.

And we not gonna talk about how 808s wouldn't even be possible without Cudi and T-Pain. All the greats are influenced by someone.

Music cannot be created in a vacuum. The argument here is whether Drake makes his influences his own and to me he clearly does.

Kanye never make Started From the Bottom. Kanye never made Hold on We're Going Home. Kanye never made Worst Behavior.

yeah see one of the reasons drake reads so corny to me is that he not only doesn't make music in a vacuum, he makes it in focus groups for crafting instagram captions. but that's neither here nor there.

This is a fact.

It's becoming quite clear that some rap fans are starting to overlook him so they can say their favorite artists are innovative, but T-Pain has the biggest influence out of all of them, even Kanye.

Without T-Pain, there would be no 808s, no Wayne using auto-tune. He dominated every hot hook between 2006-2011 and he became a template for what other auto-tuned oriented rappers wanted to sound like.

but like, drake doesn't even make music that sounds close to his beginnings so you can't say drake has been riding the 808's throughout his whole existence. that is inaccurate.

he's got songs scattered throughout his discog that would fit on sfg but even his tml phase is outdated and he's well moved on past that
