Jan 23, 2016 Found this back in September so I don't remember the exact place I got it. From Rap Genius: "With this song I have a feeling that there something uncomfortable going on between Dr.Dre and Em… (at least from Dre’s perspective). Surely it sounds strange at one glance but if you take few factors to consider you may understand , my point: 1st of all this is the last album-The Grand Finale of Dr.Dre and he has included Eminem only in one song almost in the end of the album(whilst Kendrick , Snoop and even Connor appear at least more than once). 2nd the song itself, name , lyrics, and the music all together … Name: we all know that Em had drug problems ,so “Medicine Man” appears cynical for the song to feature Eminem… Lyrics : Intro tells you that there will not be a good news from Doc(dr.dre)..so it already gives you negative kick… Hook : tells the patient that Doc (dre) ordered to overdose and f--- yourself – Patient (can be seen as Em) as even he mentions later that he followed doc orders (in another content thou) again Overdose and Em , we all know the story…. … and rest of the lyrics from dre instead of show some kind of history/support/respect and what Em and Dre have been through, which is expected when talking about Dr.Dre and Em’s musical career … he has aggression and negative approach… Music: I do have knowledge about Dr.Dre and Eminem as rappers and I do have some kind of understanding of lyrics…. BUT for the music itself I’m not that aware buts still , the melody, beats and generally the production of the song is really strange … if you compare to the other songs within the album they are full of instruments and really cool beats(which is one of the important for hip-hp as we all know) in this case Em’s verse has no beats or some background music in the beginning and than at the end there is really nothing special about the beats so i don’t know… This is jus my view, I do like and support Dr.Dre and Em and that is why I have such ideas after listening it…" Also one person said "Darkside" is an anagram for "DrakeDis"
Jan 23, 2016 the ending of ems verse is great. sounds like something he would rap and flow like in early 2000's
Jan 23, 2016 In other news after nearly 6 months I can firmly say that I think Darkside/Gone is the best song from any of Dre's 3 albums.
Jan 23, 2016 Compton is mediocre album. that s--- didnt change hip hop like his old albums Compton is overrated because its Dr Dre
Jan 23, 2016 I heard from a credible source that Dre is pissed that Eminem used Rick Rubin on MMLP2. Turns out he scrapped a lot of Dre beats in favor of Rubins work.
Jan 23, 2016 Well its just a rumor but Im hearing that Em is working with the Bass Brothers on his next project. The reason its taking so long is he needed to rest his voice for awhile to get it back to normal. Someone said its turning out to be like a modern day Infinite but with lots of story telling.
Jan 23, 2016 Maybe because Eminem can't flow anymore so they had to find something that could fit his new "flow"
Jan 23, 2016 Of course lol typical S80 reaching for anything Eminem. And it's always funny when those people act like they know what goes on behind the scenes.
Jan 23, 2016 I mean...its pretty obvious Em and Dre have drifted apart since Relapse. The chemistry just isn't the same anymore. The last time you really saw them as a unit was at the Grammy's in 2011. If @JMG is right about Em scrapping Dre beats for Rubin, that's a d--- shame. It stings even more considering he had 3 Alex Da Kid beats and no Dre. But on the flip side, Dre barely produces anymore, period.
Jan 23, 2016 You guys so weird honestly. And btw dre did not make any beat on compton as far as I know. He co produced
