    DANGERDOOM Just came. I was expecting more in this shipment but they're supposed to get here Wednesday instead for some reason. Anyway, stoked to have this. Love the art and the fact that the backgrounds are interchangeable is dope too

    just found 2 old dusty 70s record players my nan left us when she died
    they're haggard as f--- now though and the needles are old and dusty as h--- so imma pass on playing DD on it
    might treat myself and get one this week tho, we'll see how work goes

    Thinking I'm gonna get an audio technica LP60 to start with and get the hang of it while i'm starting out, and I'll probably need some new speakers too since the ones I have rn are a bit haggard and my subwoofer s--- the bed years ago, anyone have an LP60? I know it's in the lower end but I just want something to dip my toe in with right now before I go all out and bout an expensive one
    i was looking at the audio technica LP120 as well but it's over double the price and I'll still need to buy speakers, so I'm thinking I might just stick with the LP60 for now, especially since I've been seeing positive reviews for the price point

    from my experience you can't really go wrong with audio technica

    just tried to listen to --- and mm food, they both sounded completely blown out. I only played a track or two off of each but I'm going to wait to get a magic eraser to clean the needle before trying again. i don't know if it's the built in preamp being s--- or if the needles dirty, but i dont wanna risk damaging them by listening to them with a dirty needle.
    any1 know if thats the problem?

    Picked up the Universal Black To Black remaster of Nirvana's "Nevermind" from Tesco for £13 today. Bargain.

    yeah i tried both of them
    its a newbie beginner turntable, all the settings are automatic on this one which is what i wanted for my 1st turntable

    then your problem falls outside of my own problems, sorry

    maybe the cartridge needs tightening or something?

    googling it it looks like it might be the preamp, but i'm still going to play it safe and clean everything and try it again before buying a replacement one

    I have AT LP20 turntable with a M447 Cartridge.

    As far as vinyl goes it's mostly old stuff from 80's, I have some Metallica, Iron Maiden, Eminem, The Game, Nas.

    illmatic XX is the worst sounding one in my collection, mine sounds very distorted.

    I need a different illmatic pressing. The tracks on the bonus disc of illmatic XX cd are on a bootleg vinyl tho, I might get that.
