This isn't the first time Kanye has used public opinion to "fix" a song. Love Lockdown was edited at least once post release.

I still don't understand why listeners gripe about having various versions of a song. Maybe you like the first one, great! Listen to that edit. Maybe you like the second, great! Listen to that edit.

The fact that no other artist has done this type of rollout on this scale IS what makes it interesting. Like, I'm not gonna sit here and be like "smh what kinda insane person does this" -- I KNOW most normal artists would never approach their work on this kind of platform so haphazardly. And if this beta testing approach was because Kanye was losing his talent as an artist, id be more worried than fascinated. But it's not...I think there are signs on TLOP that he's as good as ever. Which is why this entire process is a spectacle im buying into, rather than rejecting outright

I think you're doing Kanye a disservice by excusing this bs. If I turn my project in to my boss unfinished I'm not being new and innovative lol. It's pure sloppiness. He set a deadline for himself and couldn't finish it in that amount of time, period. A more reasonable person would've just delayed the album (Kanye is clearly losing his mind atm so reasonableness is out the window). Kanye instead stuck to his guns on the release date (uhh...sort of, not without confusion), but he's too much of a self-proclaimed perfectionist to leave the flaws as they are so he's still tinkering with it because...well, really just because he's an egomaniac. "I'm Kanye and I can get away with it", that sort of thing.

This is to say nothing about the quality of the album which is a different discussion entirely - but also directly linked to this release "method", I think. I personally love TLOP but there's no denying it could be a better piece of work with more time. So many things here could be improved if rehauled (to me personally, Wolves is the most glaring...which is a bit ironic since we know he's been sitting on a better version of that for a year). But the album is out, the time for fixing it is over! If I've paid money for this album (theoretically), I shouldn't have to wait another week to get a finalized version of it while I just listen to glorified demos in the meantime. If Kanye fancies himself Picasso, fine, but it feels like he's literally making us watch paint dry.

well, this is why i dont look at it like kanye turning in an "unfishied" peice of work

i think TLOP is a good, complete, project the way it is. probably 2nd last in his discog as of now, but i love it. so many great moments.

i, personally, think he's making a statement by continuously editing this work. like, even if u think MBDTF is the 2nd best rap album of all time, kanye could've done this with that too. as in, he could reworked songs endlessly. not to say that they wouldve been better or worse..just saying that he could've. but didnt.

so i think he's makign a conscious decision to approach his art this way for this one release. like i said, i dont think he'll ever do this again. i pray he doesnt. but i think this entire album/release is an exercise for him.

so your point is that this isn't an accident? I mean....yeah....he didn't trip and fall and edit Wolves, lol. Of course it's intentional. And of course he could have done it with other albums and didn't - that was a good thing. I don't want 17 versions of Power, I want 1 finished Power. I believe he's making a mistake and I'm not sure why you don't

i dont believe he released a rushed unfinished version of an album and is scrambling to fix that.

i believe he intended to release various versions of this album
