Feb 28, 2016 Should Kanye West sign fellow Chicago artist Chance the Rapper to GOOD Music? We all heard how brilliant Chance can be from his verse on Ultralight Beam and apparently he has his own version of Waves with Kanye as well. I'd love to hear more stuff from him with Kanye, I reckon they work really well together. It could be the breakout Chance needs in his career. Chance the Rapper is also a free agent, he has not signed to any label yet, everything he's done has been self-released. I don't know much about Chance and whether he wants to stay independent, but I reckon a move to GOOD Music would be awesome. Would be great for him and for us because I want more Chance/Kanye songs.
Feb 28, 2016 I think Chance is better off independent for now. He's achieved so much as an independent artist and I feel like he should stay independent until after he releases his official debut studio album. I think Chance would be able to maintain a good working relationship with Kanye whether he was signed to his label or not. Also, even if he was signed to GOOD Music it wouldn't necessarily guarantee him to have more work with Kanye as Kanye has been been known to slightly neglect some GOOD Music artists in recent years.
Feb 28, 2016 Fair point, although Big Sean has been very privileged with Kanye's time. I haven't heard much from Chance, a couple of songs from Surf which I didn't like but I'm liking a lot of his recent features, would be a great addition to the GOOD family. Will be keeping an eye on him regardless.
Feb 28, 2016 He'd be a h--- of a valuable addition to G.O.O.D, he's one of the best rappers in the game right now tbh. Chance is one h--- of a versatile dude with some serious artistic capabilities, he's more than worthy of a spot on the roster. But, he wouldn't have full artistic & creative freedom anymore & we don't know if he'd be put on the spotlight or if he'd be put on the backburner (like ol CyHi). Nonetheless, i still think he should be signed, i'd argue that it's still worth it to add him to the roster, despite the risks & take-aways.
Feb 28, 2016 I've just never gotten around listening to it. I'll give it a go soon, I have heard that that's his best project. I know, I'm bad.
Feb 28, 2016 he deserves it he can raise the bar to his contribution on ulb plus with kanye guiding him they could release a classic easily
Feb 28, 2016 I mean he's probably got some sort of label backing him already, and they're just keeping it private. But sure.. Why not
Feb 28, 2016 Has kanye ever had a breakout artist? I know some his artist are popular but I don't think he ever elevated anyone but himself to the next level. I'd say Chance is better off staying independent
Feb 28, 2016 He's got 1.4M Twitter followers and hasn't even released his debut. He's fine in terms of exposure.
Feb 28, 2016 Chance has said in almost every interview that he loves being independent because that is the only way he would be able to release music for free. Kanye probably has the best chance at it but he won't
