Em only had white privilege after he was signed.
But before he was signed, he had an immensely uphill battle.AnotherNameless, Groovy Tony, TnT and 5 others like this. -

Oh boo hoo mother f---er, white privilege hasn't really helped Mac Miller, Action Bronson, R.A. The Rugged Man, ICP, KMK, Cage, Atmosphere, Yelawolf or Bubba f---ing Sparxxx, Macklemore's music just isn't good enough to do Eminem numbers, also the late 90s/early 2000s was a different time nobody gaf about white priveledge besides bitter fa----s. Now people look back and do this bs rhetoric to justify not selling enoughZeugma, Mike02, Groovy Tony and 3 others like this. -

If only Eminem still did diss tracks. Would love to see him go at Mackelmore, at least it would give him content. The Warning is s great example of what he can do when he's motivated and has something to rap about.
Btw, definitely pot calling the kettle black.Groovy Tony, Bojack and Juney Dark like this.(This ad goes away when signing up) -

“He’s a White person who raps,” Macklemore says during an interview with Billboard. "I think regardless of where you come from or how amazing you are, you’re still a White person appropriating a Black art form.”
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' new This Unruly Mess I’ve Made album features the song “White Privilege II,” in which Macklemore raps, “The culture was never yours to make better -- you’re Miley, you’re Elvis, you’re Iggy Azalea.”
Although he intended that line to mean that he was part of that group of White artists, listeners may not taken it that way.
“I don’t think people understood that I’m in my own head [saying], ‘You’re Miley. You’re Elvis. You’re Iggy Azalea,’” Macklemore says. "I’m talking about myself."
Iggy Azalea took offense to the comment, but Macklemore says he hasn’t talked to her sinceshe tweeted that, “he shouldnt have spent the last 3 yrs having friendly convos and taking pictures together at events etc if those were his feelings."
