The title. It's the same reason everyone seems to hate the Devil's Night Mixtape. Change the title and people may have just liked it a little more tbh.

i (and i guess u too) know the answer already
≈ 60% of the people on here who are hatin this album just hate it for one reason: to piss Eminem Fans /Stans off, sad but true.
≈ 20% hate it because its called MMLP2
& ≈ 20% because they really dont like the album for some reasons and iam fine with that.

It was hot summer of 2013 when Marshall Mathers announced his new studio album - The Marshall Mathers LP 2 - People went bananas. First MMLP was a classic album, so people's expectations were tremendous.



Boom! Album dropped and here we are. It seems like most of people didn't enjoy the album, so my question is...

What went wrong? What should've Marshall do to make this album to be as good as people's expectations? What would you change? Do you think album wasn't so huge because of it's name? Let's talk.

His 4th best album, but only because the other 3 are classics. I wouldnt say it is a classic but it is a very good album imo

if people get stuck in a title its pretty lame..
I only had the title in mind when he did the throwbacks and revisitations on some tracks.

I remember i was satisfied when i first heard it and the many more times that followed till i got everything from the lyrics and stuf.

BUT unfortunately some bad beats always k--- replay value more

I don't hate this project. I've gotten irritated in the past when people have called this album better then it actually is, but its got some great tracks.

I think the #1 problem with this album is that with being called MMLP2, it needed to have a bit more of the extreme side of Em, rather then the Recovery side of Em. Also not only was MMLP funny, it was smart too. Here...there's some smart lines, but they get bogged down by cheesy punchlines (flying pigs ring a bell?). And the majority of the production sounded like Hopsin-tier production, if Em wanted to make a modern MMLP, he should've took advantage of having every producer in the game at his whim rather then using Alex Da Kid and using DJ Khalil's talents for the wrong thing.

Trust me only people on f---ing hip hop forums or the internet in general dont like that album or hatin on it for some stupid reasons.
People in general think this is Ems best project since his return or since the release of TES.

this is just my opinion

relapse has better beats
i dont mind the accents or the subject matter at all , it(the accents) helps eminem to bend words so they rhyme
his flow on some songs was insanity
his storytelling was incredible on songs like deja vu , my darling
yea i like evil twin more than any song on relapse but relapse has a lot of gems 10/10 songs like underground,my darling,deja vu,beautiful , be careful what you wish for and some other great songs
relapse doesnt have a song as bad as stronger than i was
some insane technical s--- from eminem , even tho mmlp2 is not far
it was maybe the last time we will hear eminem without being influenced by the label with what to do , hoping it wont happen on the next solo



i am not saying mmlp2 is bad or something , i rate them close just that i like relapse more
