    i think they mentioned that it would be free with a 2 year contract during the keynote. also, for comparison:

    iphone se:
    $399, $499 (off-contract)

    iphone 6:
    $199, $299, $399 (on contract); $649, $749, $849 (off-contract)

    iphone 6s:
    $299, $399, $499 (on contract); $749, $849, $949 (off-contract)

    $399 off contract I'm assuming so yeah, a lot cheaper

    who cares if it's the same design as the 5 tho? there's a huge market that loves the size of the 5 + it's got most of the specs of the 6s so it's still best of both worlds

    gonna prolly just wait for the 7 tho since I love the size of the 6

    This is so f---ing stupid.. I dont care what anyone has to say, this was a stupid decision. As soon as the 7 comes out its gonna make this thing look like a piece of s---.

    It's not meant to rival the 7 though. It's a smaller cheaper device that has decent specs.

    if the 7 came out with a 4" variation, then yeah, this would be slightly stupid (it would still be a budget phone offering). doesn't seem like it will though, so this isn't stupid...even if you don't care what anyone has to say.

    this is simple -- what don't you get?

    Glad Apple took a break from releasing a crazy brand new iPhone this year. Forced yearly releases will introduce gimmicky features and ultimately k--- the product. This year was about dropping prices while maintaining quality to attract new (Android) users.

    A little disappointed the Apple Watch 2 wasn't announced. I've been waiting until the next gen version released to buy one.

    As for the iPhone SE, I've always been extremely against a bigger iPhone. Even the iPhone 6 felt way too big when I bought it. I would've paid anything to have a smaller iPhone 6.. But, the thing that turns me off now is the SE maintaining the iPhone 5 physical design. I love the look of the iPhone 6 and I'm okay with the size now. I'm due for an upgrade but I don't want to be stuck with the iPhone SE for 2 years. Looking forward to iPhone 7.

    1. Makes the device itself slimmer.
    2. The space the jack itself takes up inside of the phone could be filled with more battery.
    3. A large amount of headphones released today are bluetooth.

    these are all s--- reasons for getting rid of a feature that's existed along side apple products for f---ing forever. 99% of headphones/earbuds would be completely unusable with the phone, and that would be a really f---ing stupid move on their part and piss a lot of people off. i don't see this happening

    difference is that's not the f---ing world standard for audio jacks on devices that almost any pair of headphones/earbuds you can buy and use for literally anything uses. this would be reaaally f---ing dumb

    I totally agree in saying that it is a garbage idea with awful repercussions but I can see why they would do it.
