Apr 6, 2016 I stand by what I said, but I want to add Homie I know I'm never gonna be the same without you I never would've came in this game I'm going insane without you Matter of fact it was just the other night had another dream about you You told me to get up I got up I spread my wings and I flew You gave me a reason to fight I was on my way to see you You told me nah Doody you're not laying on that table I knew I was gonna make it soon as you said think of Hailie I knew There wasn't no way that I was gonna ever leave them babies and Proof Not many are lucky enough to have a guardian angel like you Lord I'm so thankful, please don't think that I don't feel grateful, I do Just grant me the strength that I need for one more day to get through So homie this is your song I dedicate this to you I love you Doody This is the kind of stuff that could make grown men cry Simply beautiful
Apr 6, 2016 best part of the song. I don't even care that the chorus is kind of annoying. The first verse isn't even that bad either. "I don't think you understand how much you meant to me..."
Apr 6, 2016 First verse also has a few great parts, agree, but also corny lines that kind of ruin it. 2nd verse is better and that part at the end, amazing.
Apr 7, 2016 If you could just remove a lot of small (yet very repetitive) issues recovery would be leaps and bounds ahead of what it is. So many bright spots with flows and lyrics, but the music was all over the place and relied way too heavily on rock/pop samples (although that type of music was more popular in that time thAn now). Songs like almost famous for example, some of that song is utterly brilliant and shows flashes of what he is capable of. However, constant yelling and bulks of cringe lines ruin any shot at consistency that album had.
Apr 7, 2016 Great song, although Difficult is the best Proof tribute. Recovery is easily his fourth best album after the first three classics. How anybody can think MMLP2 is better is beyond me.
Apr 7, 2016 i don't think the verses are bad. what ruins this song for me is the hook. i can't stand it. it's terrible. it sounds awful
Apr 8, 2016 Very good song. The think the hook is fitting in a weird way. IIRC there was backstage footage of Eminem & Proof both singing similarly years ago. I got the impression they often messed about like that.
Apr 8, 2016 Recovery >>> MMLP2 in general. Could've been a classic but corny lines are so cringy. I remember My Life meatball reference. Horrible. Difficult is a great song but melatonin line bothers so much. In YNO, intentions are good, it's emotional, but "I'm gonna write the sickest verse of my life" or "I'm gonna **** till I die" don't make sense, especially the last one. This is so bad.
Apr 8, 2016 I've always said that song would've been so much better if he had somebody else sing the hook for him. Like Hayley Williams or Elton John for example.
Apr 8, 2016 as cheesy as the hook is you can't hate on a song he dedicated for his dead homie, the verses we're uplifting and meant something. he should of just rapped the entire song and not even add a hook. it might of been what people we're looking for.
Sep 28, 2016 yes Lord I'm so thankful, please don't think that I don't feel grateful, I do So grant me the strength that I need for one more day to get through So homie this is your song, I dedicate this to you. I love you doody
Sep 28, 2016 The last part of the second verse is a highlight of his carreer, simply beautiful to just read and is outstanding to listen to He really gave the impression of him talking to him, "And PROOF.." And the chorus is great for the song, dont know what yall are talking about
Sep 28, 2016 Actually, the beat makes the song sound so gay with a huge help by the way Em shouts the hook.
Sep 28, 2016 I liked that he sort-of sampled Cry Little Sister for the chorus. What did you find corny about Headlights?
