    a good rule is to never trust any white people who think they somehow "know what's best" for black people. this guy not only believes that about himself, but also believes that those black people who are murdered by cops deserve it, and that anyone who complains about systemic racism is whining and needs to shut up.

    i think kendrick is a better artist, though these two artists are like night and day and not comparable at all.

    i wasn't a big fan of kendrick's last album, but overall i still enjoy him because what he raps about isn't boring--unlike most rappers nowadays. i just think on TPAB he tried to be too deep--and it didn't work that well IMO. i like the more straight forward approach he used with good kid.

    i don't think drake is all that. his debut album is mediocre at best. however, take care was awesome and clicked with me right away. drake makes music that is much more radio friendly and easy to listen to. this is why him and kendrick are nothing alike, IMO. i actually think drake will surprise people with views and it'll turn out to be much better than his last studio album---which was a disappointment in my eyes

    it was closer for me a few years ago but now that kdot dropped tpab, I'd pick him over drake any day of the week

    Basically this. And I was still not sure when tpab came out. Literally my first thought after my first listen was "g.d. this album is dense." So many musical ideas and soundscapes coming at you at once, it was hard for me to comprehend. But over time as I understood what he was doing musically I realized how amazing a feat the project is. I definitely appreciate it so much more now than I did when it first came out and thats my favorite project released by these 2.

    kendricks rapping on tpab is so lackluster aside from a handful of moments

    yeah I feel you, Tpab literally revisits the last 100 years of black music and it does it perfectly. Some of my friends needed time too cuz they were not familiar with all of that

    TPAB was NOT that hard to take in for f---s sake. thematically or sonically.

    maybe if you want to be able to pinpoint every single influence it had yeah, but not as a project.

    Drake will never make a rap album better than gkmc, and he ain't artistically good enough to make an album on the level of TPAB
