This s--- makes me feel like my Subaru transforms into a Bentley every time I listen to it in the car. Tracks 1-8 is absolutely flawless, truthfully my favorite Jay album will always be The Blueprint but RD is arguably in my favorite 5 albums from the 90s.

I don't think I'm critical enough a fan to be bold and make a top 10 best like you, but my top 10 favourites are in no order:
    • Get Rich Or Die Trying
    • Reasonable Doubt/The Black Album
    • good kid, m.A.A.d city
    • Take Care
    • Me Against The World/All Eyez On Me
    • My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy/808s & Heartbreaks
    • Carter 2/Carter 3
Albums that maybe would be in my top 10:
    • h--- Hath No Fury
    • My Krazy Life
    • The Documentary
If I could include R&B joints:
    • nostalgia,ULTRA
    • Kaleidoscope Dream
    • BeyoncĂ©
    • Freedom
    • Good Girl Gone Bad

Idk I'm probably missing a few and some of them are very personal picks that wouldn't show up on anyone else's list (Freedom by Akon for one, My Krazy Life maybe too). But anyways, I'm not confident enough to made a definitive top 10 of all time, and I doubt I'll ever be.

I was late on reasonable doubt. Like I knew about it and even held it in high regard cus i loved jay but for some reason I had never listened to it outside of a couple songs.
When I finally sat down and decided to play it front to back that took jay to a whole notha level for me. He was at another level of rapping. Idk if itd be my top 10 but I get why it's in yours. Nice pick

Which is the first one? I was late on it I'll admit. Carter 3 was the only one I lived out as a Wayne fan and I went back to 1 and 2.

What's Wayne's best project in your opinion?

This prolly one of the most quality threads in ages. Props @BigCountry. At first I was like s80 over gkmc?? But Your reasoning behind why you have s80 in there over gkmc makes a ton of sense. I also thought the one album from the 00s you were gonna pick was gonna be the black album or the blueprint.

Yeah Carter 3 kind of outpaces its actual quality as a "moment," no doubt about that.

His best project is tough to pin down. He was at his peak as a rapper at the time of C3, but his best retail album is probably the first Carter, followed closely by Like Father Like Son, Carter 2 and Carter 3 in that order. (Last two might be interchangeable.) When you throw in the mixtapes it gets tough: the obvious picks are Drought 3 and Dedication 2--I have them in that order, even though the first is so long--but then you have all the other Drought and Drought Is Over stuff, plus the C3 session stuff (not to mention The Leak).

Short answer is Drought 3 or the first Carter, but the problem is that the latter doesn't go very far toward explaining why he was the best rapper alive three years later.
