the whole product (album & video) is pretty great. as of right now, i think the album is merely good. there are a few gems on there, but in some ways it feels like a regression from the self-titled, which itself doesn't hold up that well.

first of all, liking something more because it's "less feminist" is a pretty ridiculous metric

second, this album is about burning men's lives down if they treat you wrong. this is more pointedly feminist by any definition.

The short film is too much of a montage, too incomplete in its concepts.

Beautiful cinematography, captivating imagery but lacks necessary cohesion in plot.

is that really what you'd want? most music videos that are hyper-literal end up being corny. impressionistic stuff makes the most sense with music imo

i dunno, there are only so many mid-tempo beyonce songs that can click for me in one sitting. i really love how anti is so gritty on the front half and spacey on the back. both good albums, i just think rihanna's might be better.
