6.8 really isn't a horrible score (when you take it down to 5 point scale it's a 3.4 which everyone would say is decent, no?). Pretty spot on. -

My problem with this album is that a lot of people had already decided that it was either classic or trash before it dropped and are trying to perpetuate that narrative still when it's really neither. It's a catchy, easy-listening rap album with dope production and its enjoyment factor is hinged upon your tolerance for Drake. It's overly long and doesn't cover much new ground, but I'm not looking to be challenged (musically, intellectually, etc) when I listen to Drake, I'm looking for exactly what I described in the previous sentence. It's something I can put on in mixed company and have most people enjoy. -

we'll use Views to finesse the type of side hoes that drive my honda to CVS for tampons, then use lemonade to slide back in our girls life after a strong month of infidelity
if u think thats morally questionable then you're probably gay man, and u can listen to SLIME SEASON 3 to finesse some d-ck for yourself -

I do like a lot of what he said. His relationship issues, when once possibly genuine, have hardened to the point where self reflection would probably reveal that all of this is his fault. But that assumes the fact all of this content is genuine and derived from the actual happenings of his life.
Drake is a pop artist, and that's not a knock on him.
Drake's life is shallow, and that's not a knock on him.
It doesn't make for compelling subject matter, but you don't judge music using a cookie cutter to see how well this song fits in your stencil. Child Play for example, is a song about a girl that probably stayed with them for a week, but the petty banter is the charm of the song, it's what makes the entire thing funny. Combined with his 10/10 flow, and that 10/10 production, that's a 10/10 song. But the gripe people have is that the writing is "bad"? You're listening for the wrong things if you don't like that song.
Like @Poohdini has been saying, the narrative was already written for just about everybody before this album dropped.
If you were tired with Drake, you found more reasons to be exhausted. @Soldier
If you were hungry for a Drake album, you found just about every reason to be (more than) satisfied. @Dew
And for everybody else, those who were on the fence both before the album dropped and also after their first few spins, it's continued to get better for them everytime they listen. @KLD3816 as an example.Ordinary Joel, Fire Squad, Cerrone and 3 others like this. -

The albums a little long, Drake's not really going into new territory like he should be at this point of his career. Those are legitimate criticisms. But it shouldn't take away from the good & occasional great moments here, which are far more common than the low ones.Enigma, Guma, DKC and 1 other person like this.(This ad goes away when signing up) -
