There are redeeming qualities, a wealth of them. But approaching a review like this doesn't even allow that discussion to be had. Instead it's material for those looking to parrot any negative narrative with this album.

Looking at bars through a microscope and calling it a review isn't wrong I suppose, but it does put a pretty low ceiling on how good this review can be. And I guess you built the most you could with that 3 foot ceiling you put over this reviews head.

You're a great writer and you're funny tho so it was still an entertaining read.

Taking rap lines out of context is usually a terrible way to evaluate rap songs or albums. But Drake is so awful at writing lines that they wholly derail songs, at least to me. So the "I group DM my exes" bit doesn't just strike me as a bad line; it absolutely sinks the song's chances of working.

So I appreciate you complimenting me at the end there and I'm not expecting you to agree with my take on the album, but the way I went about this is not as reductive as you're making it out to be, and not as reductive as it would be in most other contexts.

That's all good bro, I respect you and your work too much to turn this in to a petty argument in public.

Fair enough. I enjoy both was just wondering. Some of the criticisms are fair for each artist.

    read this earlier, pretty cool.
i have similar views about the album. drake getting stagnant. if IYRTITL didnt drop drake could've had a really tight pop rap album on his hands.

@Mike Tyson (I kept typing "Hasman" and getting frustrated waiting for the drop-down): Is this better than If You're Reading This?

You're not even going to comment on just how catchy this project is??? Anyone can find some lines that they hate, but as you said, it's 82 minutes, and the majority is well written.

Nothing Beenie Man didn't say stuck with me.
I couldn't possibly disagree with you more. I think the writing is atrocious; that's the only reason I wrote the review the way I did. As I was saying to @Mike Tyson, I would only be comfortable saying what I said if I felt it was representative of the whole record. And I do.
