    Absolutely not. Em could string rhyming words together well and talk about his place in pop culture. Andre had lines and verses and even turns of phrase that have more emotional heft than anything Em's ever done.
    Not even close. Andre typified early-90s Southern rap, then hurled it forward by a hundred years. He's one of the most innovative rappers ever.
    How???? Eminem can do a few things well and has spent the last 80% of his career alternating between pilled-out zombie and pop machine robot. Andre made Love Below three years after he made "Gasoline Dreams."
    To white teenagers.
    Eminem was a mediocre battler that once got laughed off stage at Scribble Jam.

    The Roots haven't made a great record since 1996. They've become mawkish bait for the NPR crowd. Black Thought isn't half the rapper Andre or Big Boi are, and I like Black Thought.

    Well, let's see, he was the platonic ideal of the Atlanta rapper in 1993, then went fully pro-black, then became an out-and-out alien, then won a Grammy for basically a Prince fan fiction album. But yes the fact that Eminem has rapped about having sex with Mariah Carey and having sex with J. Lo is more versatile.
    Oh. My. God. Talk about "ignorant." Are you joking? How can someone (I assume) listen to rap music and be so f---ing clueless about it? I mean, s---, listen to "Return"--no one has rapped like that before or since.
