May 9, 2016 its more to show case just how many noteworthy tracks the guy has. i did move things around for a few select tracks pacifier didn't make it then again, keep in mind these are my FAVORITES...pacifier is probably better than a good amount of the tracks on this list. but do i listen to it and cherish it as much as the ones that made it? nah
May 9, 2016 50. Amazing The most underrated cut on Barter 6, "Amazing" meshes seemingly contrasting influences down into a single, strip-club ready ballad. You can hear sampled yodeling in the background, Jacquees is unintrusive yet fitting, and if you listen closely, Thug whispers his amazement at just how far his team's come from the dirt. That last verse is classic. Only rapper to pull off burping on a track, sorry Eminem. 49. Miss U To me, a great singer is one who is engaging. You can hit every note as perfectly as you want, but if there's soul in your execution -- then why am I listening? In his earliest days, with obviously no professional training whatsoever, this is what Thug had -- soul. When he was screeching about his girl taking a trip to "Thug's world," it was emphatic. When he hit's that last "miss you" on the hook, it's fleeting but poignant. The tremble in his voice might have been an accident, h--- -- his whole career might be an accident. But it's captivating nevertheless. Besides all that s---, the verses are clever in the most childish way possible, and that "mwah mwah" adlib is pure GOLD. 48. Nigera See above for what made Thug's less than refined sining work in the past. Imaging hearing this hook and not being immedaitely drawn into the psychedlic soundscape created purely by his voice -- the instrumentation is inconsquential. Singing along to this track is theraputic. 47. Magnificent One of my more recent tracks that was just old enough to make the cut. If this is the kind of off the wall s--- London and Thug have in the vault, then I really can't wait another f---ing day for Hitunes. Thug shuffles through a hundred flows, treats perplexingly clever lines like throwaways ("I am magnificent I'm cookin chickens and my neck is red like a hen") and pulls off hilariously gross imagery like no-one else this generation (aside from maybe Danny Brown) can successfully pull off ("nutted on the b----'s pants and she told her old man it was spit"). Also, who is this "Monica" he mentions in the outro?! 46. That One of the most feel good leaks, sentenced to be forever lost in the noise that is Thug's incessant output. It's hard to put in words just what makes this song work.The track as a whole, from the beat (that I think might be Wheezy?) to the lackadaisical way in which Thug approaches it, is just blissful. The anthemic hook about diving into your girl like this was the Olympics or some s---, the way he contorts his voice at the start of the 2nd verse, or for the line "stick this d-ck inside her everyday," it all adds up to a instant mood-changer of a song.
