    yeah that was my point -- that the people writing of Thug or Future and claiming they arent as "meaningful" or thought provoking as Kendrick are the ones too lazy to actually give those 2 a proper chance

    if anything, it takes more effort to parse thru thug's material than kendricks.

    Yep. Every average/bad album he released had a few songs where he showed how talented he is. Too bad he ruined the rest of those albums

    I think he is muslim but his daughter is named Islah. I'm not well versed on the whole religion thing so I'd have to look into that. His other daughter is named Khaza if that has any importance.

    there is nothing anywhere that says a traditional songwriter sits down with a piece of paper and maps out an entire song

    songwriting is the process of structuring and formulating a song.

    thug does this incredibly well and with a higher hit rate than basically any other rapper rapping right now. Are you going to tell me this isn't incredible songwriting?

    When you say young thug is one of the best writers, do you mean a songwriter, or purely a lyricist? And if you think he's really one of the best lyricists, which are to you his best verses?

    yeah I really wasn't sure so that is why i brought it up. Please listen to ISLAH, I think you would also like that. Gates has more of a traditional style of rapping as well.

    I don't man, I feel stupid about getting to this point. I prefer to listen and agree, then defend and argue. In my head, I just think of a songwriter a certain way, that's just me though. I never said he aint a songwriter, but I think of "an artist" for Thugger before i think of lyricist, I think he excels with his voice and the musical part of it.

    not sure if he even means that arabic word here..but khaza translates to "took" as in "Soldier khaza the car"..."soldier took the car"

    but yeah i dont think he meant that
