Only "non-lazy" project I can say I've heard recently are

    Malibu
    Summertime 06
    My Krazy Life
    Compton
    All Love Lost

Of course there's other but I'm just rattling off the top of my head

OT: would love to hear some albums you wanted to mention to koolo. My Krazy Life is amazing and anything that comes close to it is welcome

lol nah I was just throwing a bone to Koolo cause he loves Em. But it's true--Eminem wasn't considered "classic rap" when he came out, and now when someone comes out sound like Eminem it's a welcome point of reference for some listeners.

It is. Pop music--as in, Top 40-style American pop--began to mesh with rap in the late 90s at the height of the Bad Boy run. By the early 2000s, rap was the chief driving force behind new directions in pop music, and it continued to be until EDM took over that role around the beginning of this decade.

I'll have an idea in a few hours. Only caveat is that I'll be hearing it in a studio, which is a great setting to hear music, but not as good for YG music as a car in July (or a strip club in July).

Havent read the entire thread, but i hope we're not insinuating that rap that doesn't have a "classic" sound to it is lazy...

Not joking: if you want to have a more global understanding of what's going on in rap in any given year, going out is vitally important, including and especially to strip clubs.
