Why does Drake get so much hate, especially on here?

actually you backpedalled and used EVOL specifically, at the beginning of the thread it was future in general. Side note, although its definitely his most stagnant project, it's definitely not average, and arguing your point by choosing the least stand out tape is a cheap way to defend your point, as is "it's just my opinion bro!"
Dude you live in Australia and post almost exclusively in sections filled with reel hip hop heads detatched from reality, this isn't even a personal attack but how can you even pretend to have a grasp on the modern rap scene? I live in Houston and most people I know (17-mid-20s demographic, I guess) f--- with future and those who don't listen to G Eazy and talk about how real his s--- is.

He's popular and doesn't talk about suffering or interview Tupac so he's easy to hate.

Maybe things would've been different if he interviewed Biggie :emoji_slight_frown:

EVOL was a barely-promoted collection of scraps and it debuted at #1 with 135K

Another reason why the internet might dislike Drake is because they haven't taken a shower or hit the weights in years and haven't been in a relationship with a woman. That's not the case all the time ofc but Drake doesn't make music for people with waifu pillows.

How is someone who grew up in the comfy white suburbs of Minnesota qualified to write about hip hop? I mean who would take a review of boosie by @WPG serious?

So you have to grow up in the ghetto to write about hip hop? Pretty stupid point, also hasn't WPG interviewed Boosie?

Drake is on top of the game right now, and has been for years. Of course that's going to come with hate.

Yeah I mean the very, very, very extended part of his argument is true--lots of music critics are cloistered dorks who don't go out, don't spend time in the areas that yield rap music, don't meet or make an effort to understand the people who make it, or all three. That's a criticism that can and should be made about a lot of people. But it doesn't have anything to do with me or my work; BDB is just wildly jealous that he's not getting paid three grand to write about Obie Trice.
