Ok, to be fair, things will always be opinionated. but the quality of an album is dependent on the taste of the listener.
the hip hop genre is usually classified with multiple criteria, and the best songs are the ones that either take an individual criteria to new heights, or are good over a wide range of criteria, with very little setbacks.
e.g some consider 'TPAB' to be kendricks best album based on the cultural motivation and impact. and how it reaches to the outset of the genre. while i personally consider GKMC to be better because although it stays within the context of how a rap album should sound, it does that to near perfection. without any of the glowing flaws that TPAB for e.g would have.

Also you have to take into consideration that very few rap songs are universal. most rap songs are catered to a specific audience. Some rap songs are so good that they surpass those demographic boundaries, but others might do so simply because of simplicity or a combination of demographic appeal, which then bears no objective superiority. but then again, what is objective.

If we were to take said criteria used to judge rappers and grade them (assuming this could be done objectively) and grade them in each area, we still run into the landmine of how each criteria is given weight in relation to others. A perfect example is the argument of which is the best Eminem song.

    i need say nothing more

Dude I can't explain it any more clearly, lol. Criticism is about making arguments based on what exists within the work.

So, yes, music is subjective, but criticism is about listening to an album and what the artist tried to do in it and if it was done right?

yes 80% of it is objective

if your album is great, it should be critically acclaimed (if its reviewed by people who actually have enough knowledge to judge music)

I legit couldn't find a single flaw in all the highest rated albums of this decade... literally thought they were 10/10 before they even got reviewed (MBDTF, TPAB, money store, Channel orange, run the jewels, lonerism, etc)

I'm not saying I like all of them, but I legit thought they were superior to other releases as soon as they leaked.

There are only like six rap critics worth reading though and three of them are basically retired

    Sorry
It'll make more sense if you throw words like "objective" and "subjective" out the window. Anyone is free to give their reading of--or make an argument about--a work. Some arguments are simply better than others.
