Sooo is music subjective?

    Let's settle this debate

    I know fundamentally music is a matter of taste

    But if you say music is completely subjective, then what's the point of critics? What's the point of even debating music, what's the point of this forum?

    And then it also means that we can't say MBDTF is really better than encore?


    I mean, it's just weird to grasp that music is 100% subjective

    if you share similar opinions i guess it helps people find more music they may like, also people like to feel validated so they like to read what other people have to say about things
    there isn't much of one tbh, but for some people it's entertaining, especially those who don't agree with music being subjective
    you can say whatever you like

    I can't accept that

    Like some people know rationally God or free will don't exist, but they can't accept it and believe there's a reason to believe it they just don't know yet, I can't accept music is subjective

    Please @WPG help me I'm lost

    Then why do you say wave gods is album of the year?

    Or that slime season 3 and I'm up were less good projects than 2015 young thug projects?

    Pretty sure he ever did say one project was better than another.
    Also aoty commonly means best album of the year and is implying it's better than the other's

    its certainly subjective when you got ppl talking up gucci and waka like they are great rappers or something

    really laughable when you consider the craft that use to go into even "ignorant" rappers

    f---, even kool g rap was "ignorant".. wtf happened

    To interpret it in a different way and see the perspective of other people...?

    You can't say that because MBDTF has had actual impact in the industry and it's one of the most critically acclaimed Hip Hop records of all time

    That global ranking is based in the judgement and perspective of the majority of music listeners

    it doesn't technically, but in some peoples minds it does. this is why you constantly see people defending eminem with things like "BEST SELLING RAPPER OF ALL TIME SO HE'S THE BEST RAPPER OF ALL TIME"
