May 20, 2016 so in thinking about Kendricks career over the past couple of years, I remember coming across an interview where he stated something along the lines of "TPAB was the album he wanted to make when GKMC came out, but he wasn't ready"....and it got me to the conclusion that where Kendrick is now, is the beginning of his "GOAT" career. When i say GOAT career i mean that hes completely shed his caterpillar cocoon (TPAB reference) to aligning himself into a position where he can really run the rap game..... I feel like Section 80, GKMC, KLEP..were warm ups to the slaughter of records hes going to release in the future. When it comes to Kendrick he's so cryptic that you can never know what he's up to or about to do next...even with leaks and snippets....I mean when "i" was released i couldn't even imagine the beauty that was to follow with TPAB...i honestly have faith that Kendrick wont fall off ever...i think it is in himself to never allow that to happen. i love the anticipation you get with following an artist like him...its like "whats he going to do next?" and best believe he delivers whether it be featured tracks or his own projects. I mean is it just me or does anybody else feel like Kendrick got some major hits coming in the near future? just from watching all the collaborations hes been apart of and all the legends in the music industry hes been working with...its only right that he will carry that knowledge with him on his future projects. -random fan thought @KendrickSXN
May 20, 2016 i mean i agree to an extent, which is why everyone blowing their load over TPAB is annoying he can, and will probably, do better.
May 20, 2016 I don't want him to compromise his music for having hits, I want him to keep making the music he really wants to make Another tpab or a keef collab would make me happy
May 20, 2016 I don't think he can do better, objectively, but I can see him making more accessible music for casual listeners.
May 20, 2016 Not sure what the question is but yes and no. I don't see him collaborating with these artists on his own album. Thats also why I love kednrick, he works with everybody but knows d--- well who is the right person to feature on his albums. Adele loves kendrick and I'm sure he could get an adele feature just like that... but I don't see kendrick doing that just for the sake of having a major hit.
May 20, 2016 i'm not what you call a casual kendrick listener, but even i would like some GKMC type vibe on his next project
May 20, 2016 but what if the music he wants to make is more accessible? are you still gonna say hes compromising his music?
May 20, 2016 I'm a casual Kendrick fan and if he puts out another TPAB/UU, I'm going to delete all of his work off my computer and replace it with Famous Dex mixtapes.
May 20, 2016 I'm a bit worried Kendrick is becoming like Lupe. Growing his hair out & becoming too political.
May 20, 2016 It's true that kendrick has a great vision. I was so f---ing disappointed when gkmc came out but he definitely blew my mind with TPAB. Kendrick has a grander and cohesive vision to his releases. Kendrick is also more creative (or surrounds himself with people who are extremely creative). That's what made tpab so phenomenal
May 20, 2016 I agree with both joe budden and Quik on this 1) like budden said, I can see kednrick building one of the best catalogs of all time 2) like Quik said, I don't see kendrick ever topping tpab, quality wise. Like you said, Kendrick is carrying all that cultural knowledge with him on his albums, and tpab was basically the essence of black music. Everything that made the musical genres of the African diaspora great are in TPAB. So I doubt he can top it, but that doesn't mean he will fall off...it's ok not to top tpab, I mean a lot would consider it as one of the best albums of the last 10 years, in any genre.
May 20, 2016 Kendrick will go down as a legend... as long as he stays making uncompromised great albums like s80 & tpab.
May 20, 2016 i mean i like the hair....but i can see him cutting it. and TPAB was maybe 40% political. I don't see how he's become "too political"? His most recent releases (uu, Black Friday, features on the Compton Soundtrack) weren't political at all, in fact they have more of the GKMC sound than anything political on TPAB.
