is being mildly racist bad?

    A lot of people think I'm racist because I have a shock type sense of humor.

    Race is still an issue because it's difficult to navigate around and there is still racists f---ing up the world.

    Does having bad ideas make you a bad person?

    I don't think it does. But you should definitely like, reflect on self and why you feel that way, and whether it's justified. I think not being willing to do that could make you a bad person.

    Yes it's bad in terms of acceptance. Neil Bissoondath wrote a great essay on this called "I'm Not Racist But..." . Basically almost everyone will have some sense of ignorance or racism. Of course hateful racism is terrible as you are harming people. But, a lot of people will have mild racism or personal beliefs based off of superficial thoughts or simple ignorance. It's human nature really - you're different so I'm going to put you down or have perceived thoughts of you if our interaction isn't great. Same thing happens with people that are different from you aside from just race - Example: You're fat, or dumb, too skinny, short, tall, slow etc.

    Like another said reflecting on this and asking yourself why you think this is the best bet of breaking your thoughts. Acceptance is what is strived for but I'm sure if someone is pushed far enough from a different race some racism or perceived notions will occur.

    We are raised racist it's in us, we can try to be more accepting but it doesn't change who we are at the core. I think everyone's racist as long as it doesn't turn into something violent i think we'll be fine.

    Where Koolo comes from there are more ethnicities than races in America there are more races than ethnicities... there is one religion with sect extremism... where in America we have tons of different religions that no one really believes in... it must be a very different place tolerance wise.

    0%-15% racist = Cool. This is like laughing at SNL's "Black Jeopardy".

    16%-49% racist= Fair level of racist. You may know a handful of people in this range and whenever you hang with them you hope they don't talk too loud in public.

    50%-90% racist= Cringe level of racist. These are your "It's cool, I have a black friend." people.

    91%-100%= Bad. These are straight up Klan members.

    It's pretty basic math, guys.
