Lil Wayne may have changed venues, but his tune remains the same. After taking the 4/20 Rally stage in Denver last week (May 21), saying “F#*ck Cash Money” during his set, Weezy continued to drag his former label and boss during a recent show in Phoenix. On Saturday night (May 28), Wayne performed at the Comerica Theater and echoed many of the sentiments he had previously stood by, and offered an update on upcoming projects.
“Before I go any further I want y’all to know I got two new albums coming y’all way,” he says in the above video, taken from the performance. He then instructs the crowd to repeat after him as he says “f*#k the bird man” and later “f*#k Cash Money.” The clip is edited together with some repeated portions, though at one point Wayne does explain his situation a bit more in depth, saying, “I’m going through a lot of bs right now these n----s got me in bars right now, they don’t want to see me make good music. I don’t know what the f*#k’s going on, but f*#k them n----s.”
It was reported a week ago today that settlement talks between Wayne and Cash Money had deteriorated, with Wayne’s $51 million lawsuit still looming large. The major point of contention in their dispute continues to be Wayne’s album Tha Carter V, which remains a priority for Weezy. Peep the video from Wayne’s Phoenix set above with a few performances of his many hit records following the on-stage disses.
