    it legit free trades? how secure/stable of a platform/company is it? i'm still rockin $10/trade on etrade.

    completely free. they have a FAQ on how they generate money and such.

    the app alone puts it leagues ahead of like anyone else, f---ing gorgeous. only downside is there's no desktop version so everything is straight from mobile

    they had an issue last week where the servers were down for like 2 hours but otherwise, i've never had any issues with them and because of that, I got my account upgraded

    interesting... as i start to trade more, i'm gonna want this i think. any idea how difficult it is to transfer my stocks from etrade into robinhood for management?

    yeah, definitely convenient for day traders and such

    not sure though..it links to your bank and unless you got that upgraded "Instant" account, it takes 3 days to transfer

    I used Robinhood a bit before I did etrade, and the 3 day transfer was kinda s-----y. Usually I sell a stock so I can buy another instantly. I hate the $10 etrade fee but I guess it's what I'm stuck with

    i think they just make money off of what you have sitting in your account...same exact concept as venmo -- they invest and do microtransactions on any uninvested/sitting money. no doubt that etrade and every other large company does this as well, so business as usual, but sounds like robinhood has just been smarter and/or less greedy about how they spend that revenue and give the kickbacks to their users in the form of free transactions.

    unlike loyalty and norm members, I get money instantly after selling and i'm pretty sure bank transfers (going both ways) are also immediate instead of the normal 3 day wait

    nah, haven't invited one person lol

    like i said, the servers went down for two hours a week ago and I saw a few people tweeting support asking for Instant to make up for the troubles and so i followed suit and they just told me to DM later in the day and they'd upgrade me

    i should've done this... i had it queued up, finger on the trigger and then my buddy called me and convinced me not to... saying it's a "double bull" stock...which is over my head in regards to what that means, but he was pretty confident it was a loser. now it's up 20% ($3/share) since monday morning. that b------. i just yelled at him and told em to never question el ares again.
