Jun 29, 2016 To be honest yes even though i had heard hip hop before him and other rappers before him he was the first hip hop artist i was really a fan of When i first heard My Name Is i thought it was catchy like everyone and i loved the hooks on The SSLP and The MMLP But i became a proper fan because of The Eminem Show the singing he did on that album made me a big fan so i became a fan of his music for his singing not rapping and to this day his singing is the biggest reason i'm a fan and what i enjoy about his music the most. The singing he does on his hooks And what i will also say is during the time Eminem first started singing there wasn't any other mainstream rappers singing. U had those like Z-Ro and Devin The Dude who sung and came out a few years before him but they were underground u had Bone Thugs who also sung before him it's debatable wether they are mainstream even though they have had some commercial success Then shortly after Eminem started singing on hooks Ja Rule started too as well not as much as Eminem but still started too and i remember myself and everyone i knew thinking how can Ja Rule sound so terrible at attempting to sing but Eminem sounds so good at singing. Then after The Eminem Show and the success of it and Eminem's success with singing hooks all these other rappers singing on hooks popped up in the mid 2000's
Jun 29, 2016 I heard a few rapsongs here and there before but i became a big fan of hiphop through The Slim Shady LP, first it was almost only Eminem, but as time went by i checked for others rappers too, but he was definately the one who made me a big fan of hiphop
