Jun 29, 2016Thank you both for listening and for coming back to share your thoughts. Glad you each found something to enjoy.
Rawhide who guested on a few of the tracks did most of the production. I bought the beats for "Rush Hour," "PTSD" and "Midnight Snack." Recording was all me. Mixing was a collaborative effort between myself and a friend who does it professionally.
That late 90's, early 2000's era was definitely the most influential on me. The "dated" aspect of what I was creating was definitely something I considered throughout the process and I did experiment here and there (flows on "Workplace Hot," cadence on "Lost in my Depression," etc.) but in the end I wanted to create something that reflects the hip-hop that inspired me. Do expect some more experimentation with the next project.
As for topics, I love an album that's a complete bipolar mess. An album reflects a certain time in your life, and during that time you feel joy, pain, anger, etc. Why would I only focus on one?
