Jul 5, 2016 Hope you're happy now. You killed his spirit. It's like telling a kid that Santa isn't real. Shame on you BigCountry
Jul 5, 2016 Well still like Travis though, Travis was on my Top 5 last year and i like almost everything where he is featured on and i dont care what he copies he still does it in his own way
Jul 5, 2016 Alright is dope but it sounds exactly like some of Bones' older s---. 16 Chapels is like Antidote but Cudi, like the only difference is that Travis' voice naturally sounds different than cudis. I love Never Catch Me but it's all beat, his rapping is rly bottom tier on that song like Travis is only rapping good on a dozen or so songs but NCM is like abysmal delivery.
Jul 5, 2016 Like I enjoy all three of those songs a lot but they all have glaring flaws and I've listened to it enough to where it doesn't excite me anymore, I just don't feel it now.
Jul 5, 2016 I mean nothing wrong with just enjoying the sound it's just imo it feels really one-dimensional.
Jul 5, 2016 Well most of his strengths lie in his vocals not his rapping , which, combined with the excellent beats could easily match if not surpass cudi's artistery. (Drugs You Should Try It is a good example as well) EDIT: not even talking about vocals exclusively. The way he can put a song together is where his actual Strength lies. Travis probably never will touch the emotion of Soundtrack 2 My Life. But what he lacks in emotion and story telling, he makes up for by being better at other things like production, charisma, vocal delivery etc.
Jul 5, 2016 See I get that but I feel like outside a select number of tracks his input on the track is just a stale version of someone else's exact sound. Quintana Pt 2 is such a future bite it's mind boggling, he lifted an entire hook from a pluto-era future song and sang it in a modern future delivery like that sounds like a desiigner punchline not something that should actually have transpired in a studio.
Jul 5, 2016 ill give my thoughts about the song when I listen to it but if it's strictly about sounding like future then that's just not a good argument to begin with. Tory Lanez rapping on New Toronto sounds exactly like Travis' low pitch singing voice on MIA and s--- On You. (See: Round Here, One Day) Jazz Cartier hotel paranoia basically sounds like a mix of Kevin Gates and Travis ( Talk Of The Town, stick and move) Both of them improve on that voice cause they add their own thing to it. Plus they're much better rappers than Travis so that definitely helps. Travis for the most part has done the same thing too like Dis Side which might sound like a drake cut on the surface but he just like the others, he puts his own twist on it too. So just sounding like future on Quintana pt.2 shouldn't be that big of an issue(and personally I don't even hear it except for maybe the very first line on of he verse )
Jul 5, 2016 Ever notice dis side is literally futures flow exactly? A lotta lone stars on dis side Baby we can gon have rich sex
